50' steel-hulled, bilge-keel ketch

Steven worked in close collaboration with the current owner of BLUEBIRD to perform a total rebuild of this steel-hulled ketch. Everything from the hull up, including most systems, the interior, deck, pilot house and rigging was rebuilt with Steven working as an advisor to the owner and as a full-time craftsman in the owner's shop.

The current owner, who lives on Lopez Island, is making plans for open-ocean cruising in this bilge-keel ketch, which was originally launched in England in 1962.
